Natural oak heartwood
Lively. Durable. Original.
Oak is the classic furniture wood par excellence. The tree grows almost everywhere in the temperate zones of the earth. The wood of the oak has a yellowish colour. It is ring-porous and intensely structured. It can therefore be easily distinguished from other woods. The tree is ready for felling after approx. 80 years. Our natural oak heartwood exclusively consists of heartwood planks made from oak trunks. This is the only type of wood that provides the desired, typical properties, such as heartwood splits and splay knots.
We treat the surface of the different types of wood with particular techniques (schematic representation).
Light irradiation
Light oak darkens slightly over the years and becomes more yellowish. This is hardly noticeable because the change happens so slowly.
Treatment that is specific to the wood
Two layers of very matt UV water-based paint are applied to the intensively brushed wood. The surface is sanded down after every procedure. Wax is applied as the last layer.
